Will be talking about "A New Roadmap To Rescue and Restore Hope in South Sudan" During the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) Mama Rebecca’s motherly role in the cause of liberation of the people of South Sudan earned her the distinction as “The Mother of South Sudan." A Lieutenant in the army of SPLA, she organized the “Katipa Banat” or “Girl’s Battalion, to support their sons and husbands in the struggle. She is the widow of Dr. John Garang de Mabior, who led the Sudan People’s Liberation Army during the Second Sudanese Civil War. Dr. Garang, who died in a helicopter crash in 2005, is widely considered the most influential person in the history of South Sudan.
